Jagoda Padjas-Siwanowicz

About herself:

"Through my actions, I do not want to convey meanings that are social, political or otherwise engaged. I just want to make an impression, record the ephemeral. I think that each person has the right to perceive what is happening around them from their own angle – I do not need to highlight all the poverty, litter, filth etc. for the world to see. Why not record the fact that the world is beautiful – even though it may sound trivial. Young art lacks what has been the basis of art for centuries – it lacks esthetics and, in particular, it lacks beauty. I would like my paintings – if they end up hanging on the wall in someone’s house – to remind people of the fact that one can look at the world in a different way. For me, creating things is joy, and I would like to share some of that joy."
